Suppressing information that she had an encounter with an intruder in her apartment that night, her behavior causes concern among her co-workers, which leads her to believe that Macy and Lily asked the resident shrink, Dr. Howard Stiles (guest star Wallace Shawn, "My Dinner with Andre"), to talk to her. Convinced the intrusion is connected to her mother's murder, Jordan finally has a breakdown and Dr. Stiles helps her reach a breakthrough with her troubled past. Meanwhile, a fire in a storage unit turns up a dead body that re-opens a case that was closed ten years ago. During the new investigation, Macy pulls Jordan off the case after noticing her overly emotional reactions and the parallels between the case and her own life. He then battles with D.A. Renee Walcott (guest star Susan Gibney) to free a man he tried unsuccessfully to prove innocent ten years prior.

The casino host (Sam) and security guard Danny McCoy end up as suspects in the murder of Tommy O'Brien. Danny McCoy tells Woody that he hit Tommy O'Brien because he felt he was getting too close to Sam.

Jordan snaps when Devan (guest star Jennifer Finnegan) calls asking her to cover her graveyard shift at the morgue. When an exhausted Jordan arrives at the morgue she finds the entire place full of action as they prepare for the victims of a plane crash. At the site of the crash, Macy, Bug and Nigel scramble to find any remains before they are completely burned up from the airplane fuel fire. Woody is devastated when he comes across the flight manifest and realizes that Devan's name was on the list.

Macy and Carver must race against time to trace the organ thief before the killer strikes again.
