A Touch Of Frost

Detective Inspector William (Jack) Edward Frost played by David Jason is a good old style, no nonsense, British copper who just can't abide the new style Police Service's attitude towards ever increasing amounts of bureaucracy and over management of police work. Catching villians and putting them behind bars is more his style. Good old fashioned Police work is what catches villians not statistics and paperwork.

Wounded in the line of duty (shot in the head) D.I. Frost was awarded the highest civilian award for bravery The George Cross, which he states he didn't deserve because he was drunk at the time and off duty.

Based At Denton Police Station (supposedly near to Swindon, Berkshire) part of the Thames Valley Regional Crime Squad, he would be a contempory of another famous british detective Chief Inspector Morse in Oxford about 20 miles to the North also in the Thames Valley Regional Crime Squad District.

Jack Frost along with his long standing collegues George Toolan, Ernie Trigg (David Jasons real life brother) and his long suffering boss Superintendent Mullet (Hornrimmed Harry) work doggedly at their appointed task of trying to keep Denton crime free. No great car chases or gun fights, just good old deductive reasoning and plain hard work solves the cases.

Actually Jack Frost Does have a secret weapon. Food. A lover of curry and a good cup of tea, we always manage to find him close to food. British cops don't eat doughnuts (like the Americans) Bacon butties (Sandwhich) are more fitting.
